Privacy, Security and Returns Policy
The Puketi Forest Trust believes you have a fundamental right to privacy on the web and we are committed to protecting your personal information. This policy governs all pages hosted at www.puketi.org.nz.
For the purposes of this policy, the term "sponsor" refers to someone who has chosen to participate in our sponsorship programme by making a financial donation online.
We do not collect personally identifiable information through our web site unless you voluntarily give it to us via email, telephone, or by using our Sponsorship or Feedback Forms.
Even when you do provide us with personal information (to receive our newsletter, for example), we keep this information confidential.
We will always ask for your permission and tell you how we're going to use your personal information first. You can always choose not to provide it.
We also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of your information, not just sensitive information like a credit card number, is restricted to our offices.
How We Use Personal Information
We only use the personal information we gather for purposes that you have agreed to, for example, to send you a newsletter. We do not collect personal information about any of our site's visitors.
We may also track a user's movement anonymously within the site. We use this data to improve our site performance and to evaluate "traffic", such as the times of day at which we see peak traffic, and to assess the usability of different areas of the site.
Who Has Access to It
Only people in the Puketi Forest Trust who need to access your personal information can access it; for example, the people who send a newsletter need to know your address.
How We Share It
We do not sell or provide your personal information to any third parties. We do not sell or rent web-generated mailing lists or other personally identifiable information outside of the Puketi Forest Trust.
Security
We use current security measures to safeguard your personal information.
All the personal information you provide to us is stored in a secure computing environment protected by secure firewalls to prevent unauthorized access.
We control access so that only people who need to access the information can.
When you use secure areas of the site, such as the Sponsorship Form, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol with 128-bit encryption. This means that all the information sent between your computer and our secure computer environment is encrypted or scrambled so that no one can read it in transit. Puketi Forest Trust does not retain credit card information after the completion of an on-line transaction.
If you leave your secure session inactive for some time, it times-out to prevent unauthorized access.
Credit Cards
We accept credit card payments for sponsorships and financial donations. If someone uses your credit card to make an unauthorized purchase, check with the institution that issued your card to find out what the exact liability is.
Return Policy
If you are not 100% satisfied with any items purchased from our online store, you may return them within 14 days of delivery of your shipment for a full refund. We will also refund the return shipping cost, if the return is a result of our error.
Please note that we cannot accept the return of sponsorships or financial donations made on this site.
Replacement of Damaged or Defective Items
We will replace items only if they are defective or damaged.
Refunds
We will notify you of your refund via e-mail after we have received and processed your returned item. You can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for purchase within 14 to 21 business days after we receive your return.
If you send us an email, we may save it if we think we'll need it to communicate with you. We never sell or share email addresses. Remember, email is not a secure way to send personal information because it is not encrypted. Please do not send any personal information to us using email; use our secure forms instead.
Changes to this Statement
We may amend this privacy and security statement from time to time. If we make any substantial changes in the way we use your personal information, we will notify you by posting a prominent announcement on this Web site.
